Teams
Create Teams, manage their members, and understand what a Team limits.
A Team is a named group of people. Teams control who can reach full-time Coworkers, Apps and
Knowledge Bases that have been limited to specific Teams. You manage Teams at the bottom of the
Team page: Settings → Administration → Team → Teams. Creating, renaming,
deleting and changing membership need the admin ability; the Teams section is shown to
administrators.
Teams are separate from abilities. They add no permissions; they only narrow who can reach a resource that was limited to them. See Abilities.
Create a Team#
- Under Teams, select + New team….
- Enter a Name.
- Select Create team.
With no Teams yet, the section reads "No teams yet. Create a team below to start grouping teammates."
Add and remove members#
Each Team is a row with its name, a member count and the actions Add members… and Delete.
- Select Add members… (or the arrow at the left of the row) to expand the Team.
- Choose a person under Add a member… and select Add. The list offers everyone who is not revoked and not yet in the Team.
- To take someone out, select Remove next to their name.
Rename a Team#
Edit the name in the row. A Save button appears once the name differs. Select it.
Delete a Team#
Select Delete on the row. The dialog "Delete name?" says: "This removes the team and its membership. Coworkers, Apps, or Knowledge Bases scoped to it will no longer be limited to it." Select Delete team to confirm.
What a Team limits#
A full-time Coworker has a Team access section on its details page. With no Team selected it is open to everyone in the company. With one or more Teams selected, only members of those Teams, the Coworker's Supervisor and administrators can chat with it or open its details. Apps and Knowledge Bases have their own Team access settings.
Team limits apply only to Coworkers in the full-time stage. Earlier stages use their own access rules.
