The quarterly refresh

Redraw the map each quarter by answering three fixed questions and reviewing what changed since the last refresh.

For: Anyone can view the changes; running a refresh needs the Hire Coworkers ability or admin · Last updated

The map is redrawn every quarter. The quarterly refresh asks the same three questions in the same order every time, then compares your Work Centers with how they stood at the previous refresh.

Open it with Run quarterly refresh → in the Quarterly refresh section of the Intelligence Map.

Run a refresh#

You need the hire_coworkers or admin ability to run a refresh. Answer all three questions; Run refresh stays unavailable until each has an answer.

  1. What changed in the technology landscape that changes where intelligence should sit?
  2. What did our deployments teach us about where intelligence actually lives vs. where we assumed it lived?
  3. Where's the next highest-value gap to address?

Select Run refresh. While it runs the button reads Running refresh…. When it finishes you see "Refresh recorded — the map's current state is now this quarter's baseline." and the three answer boxes clear. The next refresh is compared against this one.

What changed since the last refresh#

The section What changed since the last refresh lists every Work Center with its Previous classification and Current classification, and a Change value:

Change Meaning
Added The Work Center was not on the map at the last refresh. Before any refresh has been run, every Work Center shows as added.
Removed It was on the map at the last refresh and is not on it now.
Reclassified Its classification differs from the last refresh.
Unchanged Its classification is the same.

Right after you run a refresh, the table shows the comparison the refresh itself made, against the refresh before it. When you open the page later, it compares the map as it is now with the most recent refresh. Everyone who is signed in can see this table. If there are no Work Centers it says "The map has no Work Centers."

Select Back to the map to return.
